Stony Brook Lightning Rods Inc was founded in 1978 in Hopewell, NJ.
For 25 years the business focused on residential lightning protection, and over 3000 homes in the tri state area have a Stony Brook Lighting protection system.
In 2003 the company expanded into the commercial side of the business and is currently one of the largest commercial lightning protection installers in the Northeast.
In 2006 Lawrence Bell Jr. purchased Stony Brook Lightning Rods Inc. and moved the business from Hopewell to Hamilton, N.J.
Since the transaction Stony Brook has more than doubled in size and has become the premier lightning protection system installer in New Jersey and Eastern Pennsylvania, providing lightning protection on projects such as The Philadelphia Mint, The new Giants/ Jets stadium, and nearly all of the large Wall Street financial firms off site data centers.
